Cornwallis is protected from invasive development by environmentally sensitive core values, which have determined that only Leadwood Lodge, Harris Camp and a mountaintop gazebo have been constructed on this property. This allows our guests the freedom of enjoying the open spaces without invasion from "Other Guests"

Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is absolutely neccessary to get to the top of the mountain where guests can take a cooler box and enjoy spectacular views at sunset from the mountain gazebo. Please note that quads are not allowed.

Activities included:

1. Walking. Follow the numerous roads and tracks that are available and marked for your convenience. Closed shoes are advised.

Mountain Biking

 

Undoubtedly the best way to explore what is on offer. The ranch has a lovely mountain climb to test the more experienced with a great view to welcome you when you get there.

Birding. 

Bring your bino’s along and enjoy the myriad of species that exist.

 

Swimming. 

Swimming in the top dam is a refreshing break from the heat and for those staying at Leadwood Lodge there is a kiddies swimming pool to cool off in.

 

Relaxing, unwinding and reading. 

Since you, our guest, will be the only guests on the ranch, relaxing and unwinding from the stress of city life, without any noisy “neighbours” is a guarantee – If the kids are noisy – Who cares. We leave the rest to your imagination!!

Photographers will enjoy the varied possibilities.

Stargazing. 

With no city lights the stars are truly awesome. Bring along a pair of binoculars, a tripod if available or small telescope and see how many of the 88 constellations you can spot. Not much can beat the peace of stargazing with a crackling fire some distance away accompanied by the wild call of Jackal and Lion.
